Church: Paco Park Chapel (St. Pancratius Chapel)

My dream wedding was in a beach, around sunset with mountains at the background. I always love the beach and the mountains. However, this changed when my mom told me to have a church wedding. I see her point that our marriage should be blessed by the Church. I agreed and it really changes everything. I felt that getting married in church is what I really wanted. :))

Then, I knew instantly that I want an old church, small and dome. 🙂 Thanks to the internet! It didn’t take me that long to find the right one! When I saw Paco Park Chapel, I can see myself na walking dun sa garden! ?Yay! ♥ I informed this to Dennis and he liked it too! And this is it! We found our church!

Paco Park was originally planned as a municipal cemetery for the well-off and established aristocratic Spanish families who resided in the old Manila, or the city within the walls of Intramuros during the Spanish colonial era. Most of the wealthy families interred the remains of their loved ones inside the municipal cemetery in what was once the district of Dilao (former name for Paco). The cemetery was built in the late 18th century but was completed several decades later and in 1822, the cemetery was used to inter victims of a cholera epidemic that swept across the city. The cemetery is circular in shape, with an inner circular fort that was the original cemetery and with the niches that were placed or located within the hollow walls. As the population continued to grow, a second outer wall was built with the thick adobe walls were hollowed as niches and the top of the walls were made into pathways for promenades. A Roman Catholic chapel was built inside the walls of the Paco Park and it was dedicated to St. Pancratius. (reference

Our first time to get to Paco Park office for a reservation was last February. Someone in the office informed us that the bookings for 2013 weddings were not yet open! We should go back after the Holy Week.

So last, April 10, Dennis went back to book our date ♥. 🙂

Wedding Ring Supplier Booked

Last March 10, we attended a Themes & Motifs’s Wedding Expo at SMX. Our goal was to look for a (this-is-it) photographer, HMUA, wedding coordinator and wedding ring. As soon as we entered the expo the search begun, however, we cannot find a photographer that suits our budget and usually may mga package na video ng kasama sila. Since we already have a videographer, we decided na di na namin itutuloy paghahanap sa bridal fair ng photographer.

We checked every booth until we end up in the wedding ring section. I was so excited to find our (this-is-it) wedding ring! We were actually looking at Golden Hills but we can’t seem to find the right design. Actually our plan is to buy the classic design.

Classic Design: Our first choice

I really like this design pero nagdadalawang isip ako. So we continued the search for our wedding ring. Hanggang sa makarating kami sa dulo (At that time, I was actually thinking na, pacustomize na kami), and I noticed Matus Jewellery. We checked for the designs and ding! I found it! It is a matte finish white gold wedding ring. Too bad, I wasn’t able to take a photo, but I will upload a photo of it as soon as makakita ako ng copy. Hehe!

First Supplier Booked!

We finally met Anna and John of Aisle 1401, they will handle the videography services. I’ve been eyeing them for more than a month!

The first time I saw their SDE video (which was posted in Female Network),  I instantly had the “this is it” feeling! It didn’t take long to convince Dennis. We believe that Aisle is the best choice because they are not your traditional videographers (check their site to see what I mean), they are also flexible and listen to their clients (affordable pa!).  Sabi nga nila, their aim is to make videos that will make our memories last, hindi lang yung gagawa ng prenup for the sake of having one.

Our meeting went well, we told them our concept (I won’t tell para surprise!).  They are friendly and at ease kaming kausap sila. 🙂 At the end of the meeting, they even told us na may assignment pa kami. Hehehe, well para mas mapersonalize yung video. 😀

We are so happy to have booked them and excited sa shooting! 😀 Kahit sa November or January pa yun!

DIY list

I have some DIYs for our wedding.  I hope, I can do it all. 🙂

1. Invitation. – At first, we would like to have a boarding pass invitation. So now, we are thinking of paper airplanes and maps. 😀

2. Bouquet. – I am thinking na paper flowers na bouquet. Or something different like, marshmallow bouquets. Haha!

3. Missalette.

4. Bible cover.

5. Cord.

6. Birdcage Veil.

7. Shoes. – I’ll buy a shoes and customize it according sa aming theme (travel).

8. Monogram.

9. Wedding Tree.

— Ang konti ano? Sana magawa ko lahat. 😀

Wedding Planning Update: Travel Themed Wedding

So, we’ve decided to change the wedding theme! This made me more excited! Since we both love to travel (kahit na walang pera! ), we will be having a travel themed wedding! Hooray! 🙂

This made me more obsessed about my wedding! (hehehe!) The passport-inspired or boarding pass-inspired invitations are cute, aren’t they?

Sample passport inspired wedding invitation.

What about the cake with an airplane as topper!

Sample travel themed wedding cake.

I am so happy with our decision, as travelling is one of our passion. This wedding will really describe us. We hope to share a bit of ourselves to the important people on our lives in the beginning of our new journey.

Our engagement story…

December 31, 2011

Engagement Ring

… after a minute or two
Me: Ano sabi mo? Tanungin mo ako?
Dennis: Will you marry me? (Wala akong marinig na voice)
Me: (Tumango lang yata.

Before the year ended, he surprised me again! He made me kilig. . .♥ I was not really expecting the ring. Actually before we announced that we are engaged, I already told him not to give me a ring. I made him promise eh! I was thinking that “sayang yung pera, kahit na I want it!”. We were already talking about getting married and we’ve decided that we just have to ask for my parent’s permission (especially my dad’s).

Then, we were already planning and eventually asked for my dad’s permission :). I am so happy however, deep inside I was thinking (I really hope he proposed!). Don’t get me wrong, hindi naman porket naisip ko na sana nagpropose sya nalungkot ako (medyo lang?haha!). Of course, feeling ko naman hindi lang ako ang ganito, but most girls ay nangarap na may magpropose sa kanila. Will you marry me? Will you be my wife?– naimagine ko na dati sasabihin ko pag tinanong nya na ako eh! 😉

Actually, yesterday I asked him na to propose! I told him na hindi ko naman need na engrade proposal (like nakavideo and ring), I just want to be asked. He said yes he will ask me, but feeling ko naman hindi rin nya gagawin.

Yun pala, before I asked him to do that, he already had a plan to propose this New Year’s Eve. Kaya pala samin sya magbabagong taon!

Up to now, I am still in heaven because of what he did. I was really surprised and so happy!

So there you go, ang mahabang kwento ng aming engagement! . ♥

Now what?! I think I am an obsessive compulsive bride-to-be!

I just got engaged! And zoooooooom! Ideas started pouring out! I really hope Dennis ♥ (my fiancé) will be more patient and understanding! Haha! 🙂

I really don’t know where to start but I have these ideas:

1. Wedding Theme:

Gothic Wedding, I really want to wear a black or gray wedding gown. Feeling vampire and I think it is really elegant but I know my parents won’t like it. At lalo na lola ko! I can see them na nanlalaki mata pag sinabi kong black wedding dress!

So nagpakatweetums ako. I decided, I wanna be “Belle” na. My favorite Disney character. So right now, Beauty and the Beast theme ang drama ko. :p

2. Motif

Apple green, black and white

3. Church

St. Pancratius Chapel (Paco Park Chapel). The church is perfect! We wanted a simple, private and solemn ceremony.

4. Reception

Paco Park. I have not seen it! But according to Dennis, ang ganda daw tlga. Yes, naunahan nya pa akong magpunta. Excited eh. :p

5. Invitations and Save the date cards

I want the invitations and save-the-date cards to be D-I-Y.  I already have in mind the designs that I want!

6.  Guestbooks!

D-I-Y! Excited ako dito! hahaha! I want this to be a wedding tree guestbook! Gosh! I really hope, I can do this!

7. Wedding Songs

Tale as old as time – Beauty and the Beast

Make you feel my love – Adele

Pangarap ko – Regine Velasquez

Brighter than Sunshine – Aqualung (our song!)

And I wanna sing Teenage Dream! (haha! baka magdugo tenga ng guests)

Errr, so OC bride eh?

Obsessive Compulsive Bridal Disorder

12.25.11. Best Christmas ever! Yey!

I really don’t know how to tell our story.  Haha! 🙂 Now, we have to start planning na talaga. Haha! OMG. Ang daming ideas!

God please help us, please guide us on this journey. Thank you very much for everything.

I am engaged!

Manila Zoo

One Sunday morning we decided to tour Manila. We went to Intramuros and Manila Zoo.

Visiting Manila Zoo was not exactly in our plan. I heard negatives reviews about it. However, it was too early to go home so we (my boyfriend and I) took a short visit. I was expecting that it looks bad but when we entered, I can say that it is ok.

However, I got disappointed when I realized that the animals are neglected. Their condition made me sad. Yes, it made me happy seeing them, but looking closely, I saw that they are not well taken care of.

It seems that Manila Zoo is losing its animals, I can still remember a Giraffe (during my grade school days), but it is no longer around. I also saw a dead bird in a cage (maybe a Philippine Seargent Eagle, I can’t remember and I did not take a photo).  One of the Ostrich does not have feathers.  The elephant looks so sad and lonely. Other animals looks sick and some of them are thin as if they do not have enough food.

I hope that the zoo should make an effort in improving the zoo.
