Moriones Festival – Marinduque

Last 2009, I celebrated the Holy Week (Maundy Thursday- Black Saturday) in Marinduque. This is the first time I celebrated it without my family (I was with my officemates).

I was able to experience the Moriones Festival which is held every Holy Week. Moriones is a week-long festival that re-enacts the story of  Longinus (a Roman soldier).  The participants of the re-enactment are called Moriones as they are wearing the Morion (mask) and costumes of the Roman soldiers.

Little Morion :p

When I was in Marinduque, I was able to visit the Lourdes Grotto and Malbog Sulfur Hot Spring. (Photos were taken using phone cam)
